I won an award for my senior thesis and it is tradition that the professor who nominates the paper buys the student a nice anthropology text of some sort in the $50-$60 range.

Any suggestions?!?! I was thinking an osteology text or maybe a nice edition of Origin of Species just to be cheesy.

Why can’t I read about mummies ALL the time? Also, apparently it was a custom to bring a prospective bride and groom before mummies representing their ancestral lineage. Can that please be part of my future wedding? A mummy would be the perfect “something old.”

Well, I got accepted to one of my top-ish choices for grad school!!!! I’m still in a state of disbelief- I really didn’t think I would get in anywhere! They gave me a fellowship, my advisor is awesome, and I’d get to work in Mexico. Holy, holy shit. I still haven’t heard from my top two choices, but just knowing I have SOMEWHERE to go come fall is incredible =)

Also, I must have some serious good karma going, because being offered a job AND getting into grad school within a 6 hour period is a little ridiculous haha.

Today = Gym, Finishing my last grad school application, and going to an archaeology talk with the director of a fantastic museum.

Not bad, not bad at all.
